Mark Woodrow - Director, Strategy & Consulting

Mark Woodrow, the Director and CEO of The Galaxy, is a strategist, writer and consultant, specalising in marketing communications and digital projects.

Upon receiving a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) from the University of Canberra, Mark started his career as Assistant Marketing Manager of the National Maritime Museum. He then went on to found the consultancy Co-Communication, arranging the communications campaigns for the opening of New Parliament House and the marketing strategy for Floriade. Other clients included the Civil Aviation Authority, Coles Myer, Esanda and the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

In 1992, Mark established the below-the-line division of an advertising agency group in Sydney, handling a number of blue chip clients, including Sharp, BHP, Alberto VO5, Tyrrell's Wines, Royal & Sun Alliance, NRMA, and Patak's.

During the mid-nineties Mark worked overseas with WorldAid and the International Campaign to Ban Landmines in Geneva. During his time spent in London he took the position of Marketing Communications Manager for The Media Trust in London, launching Voluntary Matters on the BBC.

Since returning to Australia he worked in-house as a consultant for Oracle, The Inspire Foundation and Sydney Water as well as 2IC at a marketing agency. He was a communications consultant with a brand consulting firm and an Account Director with a sports promotion company, working with Adidas, Coca-Cola and the NBL.

Early in 2000 Mark established the business 'Marcoms', now known as The Galaxy. Due to the continuing success of the company, Mark now oversees an expanded client base and creative and dedicated team in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. He has been a regular evening lecturer in advertising at the University of Technology, Sydney.

 




Anne Huang – Designer
Anne has completed the 4th year of her Design Degree at College of Fine Arts, UNSW. Anne has already gained invaluable experience studying overseas, at the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in Canada and the Willem De Kooning School of Art in Holland.

She is a creative and committed designer at The Galaxy, with impressive skills in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.





Ouita Broadfoot - Senior Designer

With expertise in both digital and print graphics, Ouita has nearly ten years of experience working in professional design studios in Sydney, Melbourne and London.


Ouita completed her Bachelor of Design (Honours) degree at the College of Fine Arts, The University of New South Wales in 2002.

 

 


Nicole Sergi – Copywriter & Office Manager
Nicole joined the team in April 2009 as Office Manager and Senior Copywriter. Nicole’s position is extremely varied, splitting her time between clients, copywriting, company administration and trying to track down the where the Director can be found in The Galaxy.
 
A trained communications specialist, with professional experience as a journalist and public relations consultant, Nicole is invaluable to the team and our clients for her ability to conceptualise, write, organise content, proof-read and edit.
 
With a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Communications – Public Relations and Organisational Communications as well as currently completing a Master of Arts (Creative Writing), Nicole brings experience and dedication to her role at The Galaxy.

 

 


Nikola Keavy – Finished Artist

Nikki recently rejoined The Galaxy after studying abroad for a year at L'Université du Sud in Southern France.

 

Providing invaluable support to the studio through her work as a finished artist, Nikki assists with graphic design, layouts, photo searches and research.

 

Nikki is currently in her fifth year studying a Bachelor of Design (Visual Communications) and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at University of Technology Sydney.

 


Sally McIntosh – Project & Sales Manager
After working in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, Sally has joined the team in the role of Project and Sales Manager and is responsible for The Galaxy’s client relationships and projects, business development and sales.
 
Sally’s experience includes all aspects of hospitality, from operational to management and sales roles, in a variety of international five star hotels and catering companies. For the last eight years she has been partner of Condiment Communications, a small business providing sales and marketing services to the hospitality industry.
