Mark Woodrow - Director, Strategy & Consulting
Mark Woodrow, the Director and CEO of The Galaxy, is a strategist,
writer and consultant, specalising in marketing communications
and digital projects.
Upon receiving a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) from the University
of Canberra, Mark started his career as Assistant Marketing
Manager of the National Maritime Museum. He then went on to
found the consultancy Co-Communication, arranging the communications
campaigns for the opening of New Parliament House and the marketing
strategy for Floriade. Other clients included the Civil Aviation
Authority, Coles Myer, Esanda and the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
In 1992, Mark established the below-the-line division of an
advertising agency group in Sydney, handling a number of blue
chip clients, including Sharp, BHP, Alberto VO5, Tyrrell's Wines,
Royal & Sun Alliance, NRMA, and Patak's.
During the mid-nineties Mark worked overseas with WorldAid and
the International Campaign to Ban Landmines in Geneva. During
his time spent in London he took the position of Marketing Communications
Manager for The Media Trust in London, launching Voluntary Matters
on the BBC.
Since returning to Australia he worked in-house as a consultant
for Oracle, The Inspire Foundation and Sydney Water as well
as 2IC at a marketing agency. He was a communications consultant
with a brand consulting firm and an Account Director with a
sports promotion company, working with Adidas, Coca-Cola and
the NBL.
Early in 2000 Mark established the business 'Marcoms', now known
as The Galaxy. Due to the continuing success of the company,
Mark now oversees an expanded client base and creative and dedicated
team in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. He has been a regular evening
lecturer in advertising at the University of Technology, Sydney.
